A church family across generations
“Now, I get to watch my two children grow up in the same loving atmosphere that was so influential to me when I was roughly their ages.”

“I started attending GUMC when I was in sixth grade. My parents were members at a different church, but it didn’t have a great youth program, so I started coming to GUMC with my friends. That was nearly 30 years ago, and it is one of the greatest joys of my life to still be connected to some of the adults who welcomed me with open arms back when I first attended. I was married at GUMC, had both of my babies baptized at GUMC, and now, I get to watch my two children grow up in the same loving atmosphere that was so influential to me when I was roughly their ages. It is my home away from home, and my church family is truly my greatest support system. I will never be able to put into words how thankful I am to belong to this church.”

A welcome that changed everything

“Seeing the mission statement truly lived out by the congregation is what drew me to GUMC.” Chelsey Selheimer says she felt welcomed and, through Confirmation for Grown-Ups, called to join.
